Part 5/11:
The unique geological features of Mount Paektu challenge traditional theories of volcanism. Research indicates that a stagnant slab caught in the mantle has become a significant factor in volcanic mechanisms. This anomaly provides a fresh perspective on how volcanic activity can occur outside the parameters of known tectonic processes. Contrary to the existing models that attribute volcanism solely to subduction zones or mantle plumes, findings suggest that the deep ethereal waters trapped in the mantle could also be fueling volcanic activity, hinting at volcanic processes that could be more extensive and misunderstood than previously thought.
