Part 2/8:
It begins with Elizabeth, a character torn between guilt and frustration. She grapples with the death of her mother, revealing her complicated feelings towards a woman who, despite her flaws, held a commanding presence over them. Elizabeth's brother, Ben, suffers psychologically, his agoraphobia chaining him to the home they grew up in. For 23 years, he has not stepped outside, even missing their mother’s funeral. Elizabeth is caught in the emotional crossfire, forced into the role of caretaker while harboring resentment for the expectations placed on her.
