In a defiant move, Billy McFarland took to Instagram on April 4th to share his side of the story. He insisted that his team has been diligently working with municipal officials to ensure the successful planning of Fire Festival 2, scheduled to take place from May 30th to June 2nd. McFarland claimed, "Fire has been working directly with the government of Padel Karman and their officials since March 5th, 2025, to ensure a safe and successful event." He went on to criticize media reports that questioned his collaboration with local authorities, labeling them as "inaccurate" and stemming from "misinformation."
