A creature of insatiable hunger, Ungoliant played a crucial role in the destruction of the Two Trees of Valinor, anchoring her legacy as a figure of darkness within the world, closely associated with Melkor’s chaotic spirit.
The Enduring Influence of Sauron
Yet, even more significant was Sauron, Melkor’s most loyal servant. Once a Maia of Aulë, Sauron fell into Melkor's sway, continuing the spread of malevolence long after Melkor's fall. Using cunning and manipulation, Sauron orchestrated events that led to the creation of the Rings of Power, attempting to dominate all of Middle-earth.
