In the year 3261 of the Second Age, Sauron waged war against Numenor. The Last King, Ar-Pharazon, summoned an army to confront Sauron, leading to Sauron’s ultimate humility and capture. He was later brought to Numenor as a prisoner before enacting revenge that contributed to the island's downfall.
The War of the Elves and Sauron
Once Numenor sank beneath the ocean’s waves, Elendil and his people escaped and created the kingdoms of Arnor and Gondor. However, Sauron managed to resurrect himself in Mordor, taking on a new, monstrous form. Sauron’s undying hatred of Elendil and his descendants drove him to attack Gondor, beginning a series of violent confrontations.
