With every possession, Ohio State seemed to develop new strategies, keeping Oregon's defense guessing. As the first half progressed, Ohio State widened their lead to 24-0 through an impressive touchdown run by Henderson, showcasing Ohio State's fast-paced offense with 66-yard sprint that once again demoralized Oregon.
Late First-Half Resurgence
Just when it seemed Oregon was deflated, a glimmer of hope emerged right at the end of the first half. After battling through pressure and chaos, quarterback Gabriel found Tran Holden in the back of the end zone as time expired, giving the Ducks a much-needed score. The 2-point conversion attempt, albeit modest, showed signs of life in a struggling Oregon offense.
