Critiques of Santos’ leadership and their decision-making process were evident throughout the conference. The delay in appointing key management figures delayed critical decisions, which simply shouldn’t have happened, especially for a club coming off a promotion. There was a call for an early start to planning immediately after securing a spot in the first division, which Santos failed to execute effectively.
Martins’ press conference offered little in terms of definitive actions for the club. His mentioning of a “professional management” indicated a potential shift in approach, but the results need to be seen moving forward. The departure of Alexander Galo and others hinted at a necessary change, yet many issues remained hazy.
