Morgoth had exhausted his spiritual energy reserves, while Sauron managed to conserve his, highlighting a clever survival strategy. While Morgoth was embroiled in battle, Sauron’s potential presence could have influenced the dynamics on the battlefield significantly, possibly enabling Morgoth's escape or strengthening his forces.
