As the second half commenced, East Carolina started to find its footing, showcasing a more aggressive approach that paid dividends. After a few strong possessions, the Pirates managed to trim Memphis’s lead to a manageable margin. Dane Danger's presence in the paint added depth for East Carolina, contributing both offensively and defensively.
Memphis, however, would not let their guard down. With players like Tyrese Hunter and Jay Woodard pushing the pace, the Tigers maintained pressure on East Carolina. Various players contributed key baskets, which kept Memphis ahead but not uncontested.
