The timeline creates a dissonance for fans. If Vegeta could transform into Super Saiyan 3 prior to the events in Super, why didn’t he? One obvious reasoning could be that during the majority of "Dragon Ball Super," Vegeta had already advanced beyond Super Saiyan 3, gaining the ability to execute Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue forms. This natural progression makes it seem unnecessary for him to revert to Super Saiyan 3, a "downgrade," given that he had stronger alternatives readily available.
