Flamengo fielded a team that was considerably different from its core squad, incorporating some players from the main roster along with many who had not had significant experience together. Key players like Diogo Alves, Daniel Salles, Pablo, Cleiton, Zé Wellington, and others made up a persistently shaky lineup that failed to establish any coherent gameplay or impose its presence on the field.
In the buildup to this game, the expectations were mixed. While there was hope that the younger players would seize their opportunity, there were also concerns about the team’s cohesion and readiness. Unfortunately, those concerns were realized as Flamengo struggled to maintain possession and build plays.
