The Advance of Morgoth
As Maedros set his forces into motion, Morgoth, an ever-watchful master of deceit, sent forth his spies and agents to track the movements of his foes. The plan was clear; with combined might from East and West, they would draw out Morgoth’s forces, striking when the enemy was most vulnerable. The signal for attack was to be a beacon upon the hills of Doriath at dawn, marking a moment of reckoning.
When the fateful day dawned, Fingon observed his army, hidden among the valleys of Ared Mithrin, bracing for the confrontation with the dark cloud of Morgoth’s forces rising ominously in the distance. Unbeknownst to him, Morgoth’s army lurked unseen, having misled Fingon’s coalition with false reports and treacherous scouts.
