Post-defeat of Morgoth, the Elves were advised to return to Valinor for rest and healing, but some chose to stay, drawn to the grief of lost civilizations in Beleriand.

Sauron, initially remorseful after his defeat, sought refuge in Middle-earth, cleverly reshaping his narrative to present himself as a restorer of the land, a role that would cater to the Elves' desire for beauty and peace. His approach was insidious; he entered their realm disguised as a bringer of wisdom, promising a brighter future for Middle-earth.
