Khazad-dûm, known in the Dwarven tongue as Casdûm or “Dwarf Mansion,” was the greatest Dwarven realm, thriving amidst rich veins of mithril. According to Tolkien's writings, Durin’s legacy extended far beyond his lifespan; after his death, Khazad-dûm continued to prosper through various generations, with its inhabitants displaying unparalleled bravery and resilience against external threats like Sauron, who sought to conquer it.
