Saruman was initially a figure of great prestige and power among the Istari, the order of wizards sent into Middle-earth to assist in the struggle against Sauron. Chosen by the Vala Aulë, Saruman's journey was not one driven by malice; instead, he was designated to combat the encroaching darkness. However, underneath his impressive façade lay an ambitious spirit, one that would later prove to be his undoing.
Despite Gandalf's greater wisdom, Saruman's innate power positioned him as one of the most formidable beings in Middle-earth. However, as the narrative unfolds, we see that this very power becomes the catalyst for his downfall.
