The contentious contract was signed early last year under the administration of former Flamengo president Rodolfo Landim. It was part of a collective agreement with a group of nine clubs known as "Libra," which includes Flamengo alongside illustrious clubs such as Palmeiras, São Paulo, Santos, and Atlético Mineiro. The contract guaranteed fixed revenues of R$1.17 billion along with additional income from pay-per-view sales, which would be distributed among the participating clubs.
