Part 6/8:
A recent study published in the Journal of Engineering in Medicine and Biology found that approximately 70% of individuals who spent between six months to a year aboard the International Space Station (ISS) experienced vision changes. This condition, known as Neuro-ocular Syndrome associated with spaceflight, was first identified by NASA in 2011. The syndrome arises due to the effects of microgravity, which causes bodily fluids to shift, putting pressure on the optic nerve and altering the shape of the eyes.
