In our digitally interconnected era, maintaining a presence on social media can be overwhelming for young athletes. This led to important conversations around João's relationship with media and online platforms. The coaching team agreed on the necessity of him stepping back from social media to a degree, allowing him to concentrate on his performance and mental well-being.
This offline strategy has become integral to João's development. Leading a life that balances professional commitments with moments of mindfulness enables him to ground himself and focus on the immediate context of his training and competitions. While it is acknowledged that engagement with social media is challenging for youth today, João is beginning to appreciate the value of this balanced approach.
