Part 6/8:

In parallel to these findings, new technological advancements in mental health diagnostics are emerging. A Brazilian initiative has introduced a free online calculator designed to help individuals gauge their levels of depression. Utilizing a validated questionnaire known as the PHQ-9, the tool comprises just nine brief questions addressing symptoms such as mood changes, fatigue, and sleep disturbances over the past two weeks.

The calculator generates a score ranging from 0 to 100, providing a standardized assessment of depressive symptoms. Scores below 50 indicate no depressive symptoms; those between 50 and 60 reflect few symptoms; scores between 60 and 70 represent moderate symptoms; and anything over 70 signifies severe symptoms that require clinical attention.
