Part 2/6:
Astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore from NASA spent over nine months in space, transported to the International Space Station (ISS) aboard a Boeing-designed capsule known as Starliner. However, this mission did not go as smoothly as planned; the capsule faced multiple failures during its operation. Responding to these challenges, Boeing and NASA are currently collaborating to address the anomalies that arose during the flight.
Following the Starliner’s return to Earth, both organizations have been carefully analyzing mission data to understand the root causes behind several motor failures and helium leaks that were encountered during its transit to the ISS last year. These issues must be resolved prior to executing any new crewed flights with the Starliner capsule.
