Meanwhile, NASA's current strategy increasingly relies on partnerships with private companies. Though Boeing's initial attempt at crewed missions left much to be desired, they are expected to resume their entry into the space race soon.
Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore of NASA spent over nine months aboard the International Space Station aboard a capsule designed by Boeing, known as the Starliner. Unfortunately, this capsule encountered several significant failures during the mission. Consequently, both NASA and Boeing are collaborating to solve these issues, which represent the first step towards a new crewed flight involving the Starliner.
