Pushing the Limits of Hero's Engine
To demonstrate the power of this ancient technology, the presenter decided to take Hero's engine to the extreme. By swapping out the heavy metal bulb for a lightweight ping pong ball and using liquid nitrogen instead of water, they were able to achieve mind-boggling rotational speeds.
The liquid nitrogen, which expands by 700 times its original volume when it turns into a gas, provided the necessary pressure to spin the ping pong ball at astonishing rates. The presenter was able to clock the ball at over 18,000 RPM, a feat that left the audience in awe.
