Part 2/5:
The Hezbollah Drone Attack
The Hezbollah drone attack, which occurred approximately 40 miles inside Israeli territory, targeted the elite Golem Brigade of the IDF. Analysts have identified the drone used as the Mohajer-1, an Iranian-developed model with a range of 120 km and a payload capacity of up to 40 kg of explosives. The drone is characterized by its small size, low radar cross-section, and the ability to fly at low altitudes and slow speeds, making it challenging to detect and counter.
The IDF has revealed that the drone launched two projectiles before crashing into the target, in a kamikaze-style attack. This tactic of using drones in conjunction with a barrage of rockets to overwhelm the Iron Dome defense system has proven to be a significant challenge for the IDF.
