Local hospitals were quickly filled with injured children as parents were urged to check for missing loved ones. Responding to the incident, security forces arrived at the scene and arrested the event organizers, who had planned for an attendance of up to 5,000 people.
Investigations Launched
In the aftermath of the stampede, an investigation has been initiated to uncover the root causes of this horrific event. The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Bol Alal, visited the hospitals treating those injured and vowed to hold accountable anyone found responsible for what transpired that day.
