Often depicted with the most prominent icon in the church, her portrayal as "more spacious than the heavens" symbolizes the extraordinary miracle of her bearing the Incarnate God. Furthermore, the Orthodox Church believes in Mary's continued intercession after her earthly life. Miraculous occurrences attributed to her, such as miracle-working icons and reported appearances, reinforce her ongoing relationship with humanity. Her promise not to abandon her followers after her repose indicates a living faith that transcends physical death.
