Consider the metaphor of a watch—a device that is inherently designed to tell time. If someone possesses a watch but fails to recognize its function, the watch becomes useless to them. Similarly, if one fails to recognize their own awareness, they remain trapped in a cycle of thoughts, emotions, and perceptions. The qualities of awareness—its purity, freedom, and peace—go unnoticed and unutilized.
The Importance of Connection
Even if we possess the perfect quality of awareness, without recognition and connection, we cannot channel its benefits. This disconnect results in remaining ensnared by our thoughts and emotions, unable to rise above them. In essence, the practice of meditation becomes futile without the realization of our inherent awareness.
