In contemporary discourse, numerous meditation styles labeled as "mindfulness meditation" have emerged. While many of these styles are effective and beneficial, some fall into the realm of new-age interpretations that may lack a firm grounding in authentic meditation practices. A notable example of this is the sensational advertisement claiming “Seven days to enlightenment,” accompanied by an image of a person levitating — a portrayal that speaks more to commercialism than genuine spiritual growth.
The Two Aspects: Object-Oriented vs. Subject-Oriented
There are fundamentally two approaches to meditation: object-oriented and subject-oriented.
