On the contrary, subject-oriented meditation focuses on awareness itself, which can be likened to a lamp illuminating its surroundings. In this sense, awareness is the flame, while objects around one serve merely as reference points. The vastness of awareness allows it to encompass all phenomena, making it less critical to fixate on any one object. In fact, it could be said that while mindfulness leans towards a more conservative approach, awareness embodies a more liberal and open intention.
