Part 2/8:

In modern interpretations, the sacral chakra is often linked with creativity, sexuality, and pleasure. However, digging deeper into yogic texts reveals a more profound significance. The term "svadhisthana" can be broken down into two components: sva, meaning "self," and adhisthana, meaning "dwelling place." Therefore, the svadhisthana chakra represents the "dwelling place of one's self."

Positioned at the root of the genitals, the sacral chakra is part of our subtle body, situated along the Sushumna Nadi, a central energy channel in yoga. Notably, this chakra is depicted as having six petals, embodying a bright orange or sindhuram color. Each petal is associated with a specific sacred Sanskrit sound, or mantra, vital for energizing the svadhisthana chakra.
