The journey through this heart-opening process must be understood as cyclical. Each layer of emotional release feels akin to progressing through levels in a video game. After facing one layer of pain, new feelings may emerge, challenging the individual to again confront and integrate them. This never-ending cycle of facing one’s feelings offers opportunities to expand one’s emotional capacity further and further.
Individuals may experience moments of heightened emotional pain followed by intense feelings of bliss and peace. It is when one fully allows themselves to ride these waves of emotion—not resisting, but rather welcoming them—that substantive change occurs. This allows for a more expansive way of living, where one operates from a place of love and generosity, rather than fear.
