Part 4/7:
Fundamentally, loving ourselves is pivotal for being able to love others. Our ability to show kindness and compassion is contingent upon our relationship with ourselves. Self-rejection only leads to a cycle of negativity, making it impossible to fully embrace and connect with others.
Practicing self-love is about honoring our legitimate needs, taking care of our bodies, and recognizing our self-worth. This journey is often reflected in the practice of yoga, which serves as a metaphor for embracing the challenges of life. Great yogis have promoted the idea that yoga is more than a physical practice—it’s a discipline that fosters an understanding of our spiritual journey, thereby enlightening us on how to enrich our relationships with others.
