After centering ourselves with the breath, we rise and extend our arms upward, bringing our hands to heart center. From here, we’ll initiate a gentle spinal twist. Start by bringing your left elbow toward your right knee. This helps with the detoxification in the body while also stretching your spine.
Return back to center and switch sides, twisting to the left. This simple twist brings movement and flow to the heart area.
Cat-Cow: A Spine and Heart Opener
Next, we move into Table Position on our hands and knees, preparing for the Cat-Cow sequence. This is a great way to articulate your spine:
Inhale as you arch your back, lifting your tailbone and chin.
Exhale, rounding your spine as you tuck your chin and tailbone in.
