Next, gradually roll back up to a standing position while extending your arms overhead again. Interlace your fingers, and reach from side to side to stretch both your sides equally.
Opening Up the Body
Continue to deepen your stretches by interlacing your fingers behind your back to hug your shoulder blades, lifting your chest as you inhale. As you exhale, bend your knees and fold over, giving yourself permission to feel the weight of your body pulling downwards. Emphasizing relaxation is crucial at this stage; you are awakening your body, not forcing it.
