Breaking New Ground in Diversity and Education
IIT Madras has also made strides in diversifying its admission processes. A first-of-its-kind Department of Medical Science and Technology has been established, selecting students based on the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) aptitude test—allowing a broader range of subjects, including biology.
Additionally, the Institute has pioneered Sports Excellence admissions and is introducing programs for students excelling in finance and the arts. This holistic approach seeks to build a vibrant academic community and recognize diverse talents.
