New Zealand is not alone in its injury woes as other teams have also been affected leading up to the Champions Trophy. India's premier pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, who was named the ICC Cricketer of the Year, is among those missing from action due to injury. Australia, perhaps the most stricken side, will be without their captain, Pat Cummins, who is sidelined with an ankle injury, along with pacer Josh Hazlewood and allrounder Mitchell Marsh.
South Africa has also faced challenges in their squad preparations, having lost pacers Andile Phehlukwayo and Gerald Coetzee to injuries affecting their back and groin, respectively. Additionally, host nation Pakistan will play without opener Saim Ayub, who has an ankle injury suffered during their recent tour of Australia.
