In combination with baffles installed on either side of the sensor, the system effectively filters out extraneous heat sources, such as radiation from the heater. With an additional heater positioned after the sensor, the temperature is adjusted further, and precise measurements of both temperature increases and the input power are taken into account.

As air continues its journey through the calorimeter, it encounters baffles designed to homogenize the airflow and temperature distribution. Hunt emphasized that the design allows for adjustments since this is still a prototype, providing flexibility to find the optimal configuration.
