Part 2/7:

Inside the outer shell, an outer tube houses two important components: a 50-meter long resistance temperature detector (RTD) and a heater. The heater is essential for maintaining a temperature of approximately 40 degrees Celsius. It serves to maintain an optimal testing environment, enabling observations of heat flow more reliable.

Inner Tube and Measurement Setup

Nestled within the outer tube is another tube, which is separated by an air gap. This air gap is crucial as it allows the heat from the unit under test (UUT) to transfer through the inner tube and into the outer tube. The calorimeter carefully measures the temperature difference between these two tubes, which is vital in calculating heat flow through the system.
