This setup uses a significantly higher number of thermal couples than previously, with three positioned inside and three outside the cells. The outside thermal couples are strategically placed on the surface of the borosilicate tubes. A novel approach I’ve implemented involves using a disc of sticky carbon tape—originally intended for scanning electron microscopy—which has been cut and carefully applied to the ends of the thermal couples. This innovative coating enhances the thermal connection between the instrumentation and the samples.
