Once the wax is acquired, the team sets about melting it using the heat gun. This method is effective, enabling the wax to become pliable and ready for application. As the wax melts, it creates a viscous liquid that can easily coat the desired object.
Preparing the Rod
The core idea behind this project is to create a protective layer of wax on the rod's surface. This layer will facilitate the separation between the rod and the silicon carbide material that will be cast around it. There’s a sense of urgency as the team works to dip the rod into the melted wax carefully. They hope to achieve an even coat that maximizes protection during the casting process.
