Part 1/4:
Investigating Thermal Emission in Coils
In a recent test, researchers aimed to explore the luminous properties of a hot core in relation to a thick coil structure. The experiment leverages Alan Goldwater’s finely coiled dummy PO, examining how a hot core might shine through such a coil configuration.
Experimental Setup
The center of this experiment is comprised of a dummy coil that underwent preliminary testing with various windings. Researchers implemented a specially cast "dog bone" containing a thick iron chrome coil, which serves as the outer layer of the structure. At play are two Type B coils: one positioned inside the dummy core and the other on the outside. Additionally, a Type K coil is situated externally to the thick coil assembly.
