Part 2/11:
Upon first glance, the “Bright from the Start” CFL may appear to be merely a compact fluorescent lamp housed within a traditional light bulb shell. However, this aesthetic design serves a deeper purpose: it cleverly integrates an incandescent bulb inside the fluorescent assembly. This ingenious design was meant to address one of the fundamental drawbacks of CFLs—their slow warm-up time when initially powered on. By incorporating an incandescent light source, GE sought to provide immediate illumination while the CFL heated up and reached its optimal brightness.
