The Innovation of Flashcubes
The development of flashcubes marked a significant leap in consumer flash photography. Debuting in the 1960s, flashcubes integrated multiple flashbulbs and reflectors into a compact, disposable design. This innovation eliminated the need for a separate flash unit and hastened the photographing process.
Flashcubes operated by mechanical means rather than electrical ones—a significant advancement in the realm of amateur photography. When the film was wound, the flashcube would rotate automatically, making a fresh flashbulb available for the next shot.
