For many years, I, like countless others, paid little attention to privacy policies associated with various online services. The sheer volume of legal jargon often left me feeling overwhelmed, and I lived under the assumption that since I had nothing to hide, it didn't matter if I skimmed through the dense text. This mindset, deeply rooted in the allure of convenience offered by smart technology, shaped a substantial part of my early twenties. Influenced by my career in tech, I actively encouraged friends and family to adopt smart devices, such as Google Home, all while ignoring the implications of data collection.
