The Alarming Reality of Food Waste
Food waste is an issue that impacts our environment substantially. While many will think of plastics and other non-biodegradable materials when it comes to waste, food waste deserves equal attention—if not more. Current estimates suggest that around 50% of food produced in the United States is wasted each year, tallying up to an astonishing 130 billion tons. To put it in perspective, this means approximately 350 kilograms of food are wasted by each individual annually.
