As environmentally conscious individuals, we may still find ourselves holding on to outdated Tupperware, not realizing the potential health risks they pose. Plastic containers, particularly older models, may leach harmful chemicals like Bisphenol A (BPA), which has been linked to numerous health issues, including hormone disruption and cardiovascular problems.
Recycling or selling these items can seem contradictory when they are associated with health risks; however, the alternative—allowing them to contribute to the growing 300 million tons of plastic waste generated annually—simply isn't sustainable. Experts even predict that by 2050, our landfills will contain a staggering 12 billion metric tons of plastic materials.
