Every year, approximately one billion plastic toothpaste tubes—made from fossil fuels—end up in landfills, taking centuries to decompose. Many of these tubes find their way into waterways and oceans, where they can be mistaken for food by marine life, causing significant harm. Furthermore, conventional toothpaste is often laden with synthetic chemicals such as sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and parabens, which are detrimental to both health and the environment.
