Part 2/8:
The founder of The Very Good Bra grew up in Liverpool, UK, and later moved to Sydney, Australia, where her journey in entrepreneurship began. Initially working in the corporate realm of recruitment, she found herself at a crossroads after a breast cancer diagnosis in 2006. This life-altering event sparked her passion for creating a more compassionate and sustainable product line.
During her recovery, she noticed the lack of suitable undergarments for women undergoing cancer treatment. This prompted her to explore creating non-wired bras made from natural fibers—initially leading to the establishment of Essential Luxury for Cancer in 2012. However, it took years of research and development before she launched The Very Good Bra in 2018, focusing on the principles of sustainability.
