The film’s portrayal of Halloween in 1903 depicts a time when the holiday was a mix of mischief and merriment. Children roamed the streets in elaborate, often eerie, costumes and partook in playful trickery, such as throwing flour at unsuspecting neighbors rather than simply seeking candy.
