Part 7/9:
In 1976, the band released Presence and their involvement in film with The Song Remains the Same. However, following Plant’s severe car accident and Bonham’s substance abuse challenges, the band slowed down their touring and production.
The release of In Through the Out Door in 1979 reflected a different sound that leaned more towards pop, resulting in a mixed reception from long-time fans after Bonham's tragic death in 1980. The band collectively chose to disband, acknowledging they could not continue without their extraordinary drummer.
