Once the frequency spectrum is balanced, introducing harmonics through upward processing, such as using the Oxford Inflator, can give the mix more presence. Furthermore, implementing a PSP saturator allows for parallel valve or tube saturation, centering the saturation around the kick and vocals. These additions make the overall mix sound fuller and contribute to a more pronounced kick and vocal performance.
Step 5: Optional Collective Reverb
In some cases, adding a subtle collective studio reverb can create a cohesive sound without overwhelming the track. By blending the reverb effect in with a channel fader, a charming depth can be added to the mix, making it feel more integrated.
